BSG announces executive board and class council election results
April 17, 2026
In an email to all students this past Monday, Bowdoin Student Government (BSG) announced the winners of both this year’s class council and executive board elections.
This comes a week after the results of the presidential, vice presidential, chair of the treasury and charterer elections were announced, marking the third year where the BSG election cycle has been split into two weeks. Last week, Aidan Aybar ’28 was elected president, Andy Mugisha ’28 vice president, Will Minor ’27 chair of the treasury and Mellanie Salazar Carlos ’29 charterer.
The four executive board positions that were not announced last week were the Chair of Student Affairs, Chair of Academic Affairs, Chair of Facilities and Sustainability and Chair of Diversity and Inclusion. Ellie Denney ’29 won chair of academic affairs, Brendan McLoughlin ’29 won chair of facilities and sustainability and Fatima Hernandez ’29 won chair of diversity and inclusion. The Chair of Student Affairs position was left vacant.
All class council elections this year ran uncontested.
In the Class of 2029’s council, Fariza Samadova ’29 won president and Liam Mattox ’29 won vice president. Justin Zhang ’29 won treasurer and the Programming Director position was left vacant.
The Class of 2028 elected Matt Brayer ’28 and Ephraim Tutu ’28 as presidents to each serve for one semester while the other studies abroad. The same was true with Luke Purinton ’28 and Jason Sherrick ’28, who were both elected as treasurer, and Max Grad ’28 and Alimah Jalloh ’28 who were elected as programming director. Navya Arora ’28 won the vice president position for the full year.
In the Class of 2027, Blake Covert ’27 won the presidency, with the vice president position remaining vacant. Juliet Cisneros ’27 was elected as treasurer, and Ollie Tannahill ’27 as programming director.
These elections conclude this spring’s BSG election cycle, with the process continuing in the fall to fill the vacant positions.
