October 1, 2021

WOMEN’S TENNIS PREPARES TO CAUSE A RACKET

This weekend, the women’s tennis team will host the Division III New England International Tennis Association (ITA) tournament at the Pickard Tennis Courts. This event marks the first competition of the season for the women’s team and the team’s first time playing in a tournament since the fall of 2019.  If attending the tournament, please review the College’s home event spectator guidelines before arriving on campus.

KARA FINNERTY COMES HOME

The athletic department announced on September 29 that it has selected former women’s lacrosse standout Kara Finnerty ’20 to return to the team as an assistant coach. While at the College as a student, Finnerty played lacrosse and field hockey and received All-American honors in both sports, as well as holding captainship of the women’s lacrosse team in 2020. She was the 2017 Outstanding First-Year Female Athlete at Bowdoin and the 2020 recipient of the Sidney J. Watson Award for most outstanding multi-sport athlete.

A WEEKEND OF ATHLETICS

This is a great weekend to be a Bowdoin Athletics fan, as it is jam-packed with various competitions. Today, the women’s tennis team will host the New England ITA tennis tournament, and the women’s volleyball team will take on Williams College away in Massachusetts. On Saturday, the women’s soccer team will host Trinity College, the men’s and women’s cross country teams will compete in the Maine State Meet in New Gloucester, the men’s golf team will partake in the Jumbo Golf Day Tournament at Tufts University and the men’s and women’s sailing teams will participate in the Danmark Trophy Regatta and the women’s ACC Qualifiers, respectively.
