RUNNING UP THAT HILL The cross country programs both took fifth place out of 35 teams in the NCAA Division III East Regional tournament at Pickard Field on Saturday. Individually, Leila Trummel ’23 placed fifth out of 245 runners and Will Goddard ’25 placed sixth out of 242 runners.

Cross country opens season with wave races

Last weekend, the men’s and women’s cross country teams kicked off their seasons with the Colby, Bates and Bowdoin (CBB) Wave Races at Pineland Farms. The meet, against rivals Bates and Colby, was the runners’ first chance to compete after intense preseason training and served as a motivator for their upcoming home invitational.

RUNNING TO REGIONALS The men’s and women’s cross-country teams will compete at the NCAA Division III East Regional at Suffolk University in Franklin Park, Massachusetts. Each team will bring eight athletes, seven competitors and one alternate.

HIGHLIGHT REEL FOR OCTOBER 1

WOMEN’S TENNIS PREPARES TO CAUSE A RACKET This weekend, the women’s tennis team will host the Division III New England International Tennis Association (ITA) tournament at the Pickard Tennis Courts. This event marks the first competition of the season for the women’s team and the team’s first time playing in a tournament since the fall of 2019.

Cross-country races towards NCAA regionals

At the culminating event of the NESCAC cross-country season last weekend, both the men’s and women’s cross-country teams posted promising results, which bode well for next weekend’s NCAA regional meet. Hosted by Williams, the 2019 NESCAC Cross-Country Championships brought together 11 different schools, 22 separate squads and several hundred runners.

Women’s cross country grabs first place in Bowdoin Invitational

The women’s cross country team dominated the competition last weekend at the Bowdoin Invitational with five of the top six finishes. Captain Julia O’Rourke ’19 led the first pack of runners, finishing second overall. She was followed by Delaney Bullock ’22, Sarah Hanson ’20, Abigael Osmanski ’21 and Erin Hollenbaugh ’20 who placed third, fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.

Women’s cross country strives to build off track’s success

Nearly six months ago, four Bowdoin women stood on the national championship podium after winning the indoor track distance medley relay, capping off an exceptional season for the Polar Bears. Many of the runners on the women’s indoor track and field team will also run cross country this fall, carrying last spring’s momentum onto the courses later this month.
