Highlight Reel for March 28

VIRGINIA IS FOR GOLFERS

Starting off the spring strong, the women’s golf team finished second with 643 shots behind York College of Pennsylvania (625) in the Ruckus Tournament hosted by the Williamsburg National Golf Club in Virginia. The team is currently ranked 21st in the country according to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association Division III poll. Emily Renoff ’28 continued her impressive first-year campaign by winning the event 72–72–144 even par and taking home medalist honors. Muzi Wei ’27 finished in ninth 81–81–162, tying with Katie Ng ’28 86–78–162, and Emilia Rose ’26 rounded the team out in tenth with a 80–84–164. The team will head to Amherst College for the Jack Leaman Invitational on April 12.

SECOND IS THE BEST

The men’s golf team kicked off its first spring tournament this past weekend with its second best score over two days in program history at the Ruckus Tournament hosted by Williamsburg National Golf Club. The Polar Bears finished in second place overall with 587 points, closely behind first place finisher Drew College. Individually, Andrew Flynn ’27 took sixth overall 71–74–145, Joey Zheng ’27 and Matt Cohen ’27 went 74–72–146 and 71–75–146, respectively, to tie for tenth and Henry Mariscal ’28 took 15th going 73–75–148. Next up, the team will head to the Trinity College Spring Invitational from April 5 to 6 in Hartford, Conn.

EASY BREEZY

The sailing team competed in three regattas over the weekend: the Boston University team race, the Dublin Trophy hosted by Harvard University and the King’s Point (KP) Open Team race at the US Merchant Marine Academy. At the Dublin Trophy, breeze stayed relatively consistent throughout the weekend as the Polar Bears finished with a 5–11 record. Lauren Russler ’26, Posie Cabaniss ’27, Kyra Phelan ’26, Maizie Bartlett ’27, Rebecca Schill ’27, Kaile Olson ’27, Mairead Ritzel ’28 and Lulu Louchheim ’25 all sailed to grab a seventh place overall finish. At the KP Open, the team finished in second overall despite varying conditions. The team consisted of Thomas Hall ’25, Sam Bonauto ’25, Tbo Antonietti ’25, Izzy Tsuchitori ’26, Holliss Hirsch ’25, Elizabeth Wire ’28, Kique Ruiz ’26 and Aidan Michelow ’25.
