SEVEN WONDERS

Field hockey midfielder Lily Clifford ’26 scored a hat trick in the team’s 7-0 win over the University of Maine-Farmington (1–5) on Wednesday. The tallies marked both Clifford’s first collegiate goal and first hat trick. The four other Polar Bear goals came from Georgie Coetzer ’23, Sophia Rosati ’24, Ella Ferrucci ’26 and Olivia Cunningham ’25. Bowdoin also outshot its opponent 35–0 and earned 14 penalty corners. The Polar Bears improve to 5–3 (1–3 NESCAC) on the season and will play against Husson University (3–4) at Howard F. Ryan Field on Sunday.

TEAMWORK DREAM WORK

On Sunday, the women’s rugby team (3–0; 1–0 NIRA) saw eight different players score in a 73–0 victory over Castleton State College (1–2). Saniya Ridley ’25, Justine Endo-Ferguson ’26, Rebecca Vakarau ’25, Ella Slaby ’25, Jorja Markella ’24, Kyra Bishop ’26, Ella Garnett ’23 and Abigail Ramirez ’26 all scored tries for the Polar Bears, with Ridley and Vakarau contributing two tries each. Bishop and Slaby also led the team with ten tackles apiece, and fullback Lauryn Eisenhart ’24 went nine for eleven on conversion kicks. The team aims to maintain its perfect record when it hosts University of Maine-Orono tomorrow at Pickard Fields.

FOUR’S COMPANY

The men’s and women’s golf team both placed fourth in their respective tournaments last weekend. The men’s team earned its best finish in a home event since 2014, finishing with a two-day total of 307-309-616. Ned Dean ’25 led the team by tying for fourth place. George Fahey ’26 finished seventeenth place, and Jack Barned ’26 finished twenty second. The women’s team competed at the Williams Fall Invitational and posted a two-day total of 667. Shivani Schmulen ’26 tied for sixth place. Abbie Kaestle ’23 and Crystal Chong ’23 finished thirteenth and twenty-second, respectively, to round out the Polar Bears’ performance. Tomorrow, the men’s team will play at the Colby, Bates and Bowdoin Championship at Martindale Country Club, and the women’s team will travel to Vermont to compete in the George Phinney Classic hosted by Middlebury College.
