MEN’S SOCCER KICKS OFF SEASON

In their first game of the season and the College’s first fall athletic competition, the men’s soccer team defeated the University of New England (UNE) by a score of 3-0. Drake Byrd ’21 netted two goals, and Minseo Bae ’22 added the third.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL SPIKES SEASON INTO ACTION

In their season opener, the women’s volleyball team showed their strength in defeating and sweeping the University of Southern Maine (USM) by a score of 3-0. Cori Gray ’22 led the way for Bowdoin with 16 kills and four blocks. Ella Haugen ’23 and Joy Lui ’25 added 23 and 19 assists, respectively.

WOMEN’S SOCCER BEGINS WITH SHUTOUT

In their season opener, the women’s soccer team made a powerful statement by defeating the University of Maine Farmington (UMF) by a score of 11-0. Jamie Lau ’22 led the charge for Bowdoin, recording one goal and one assist.

FIELD HOCKEY STICKS TOGETHER IN FIRST WIN

In the College’s fourth athletic competition of the season, the field hockey team played its first game of the season and defeated the University of New England (UNE) by a score of 5-2. Bailey Prete ’24 set the tone for Bowdoin, scoring two goals. This win furthered the undefeated record of Bowdoin’s athletic teams this fall, boosting it to four wins and and zero losses.

NEW FACES FOR BASKETBALL PROGRAMS

Following the retirement of long-time men’s basketball Head Coach Tim Gilbride last spring, the College hired Alex Lloyd to fill the role. Lloyd has an extensive coaching background, most recently holding a lead assistant coach position for the semi-professional team the Memphis Hustle. Following the departure of women’s basketball Head Coach Adrienne Shibles, the College hired Sacha Santimano, the former Head Coach of the women’s basketball program at Eastern Nazarene College in Massachusetts.
