In an intrastate matchup against Maine Maritime Academy on Monday, the men's basketball team put on a show and won by a final score of 72-44.

Bowdoin opened the game with a 15-0 run and never looked back, finishing the first half with a 25-point lead.

Captain Will Hanley '12 played a crucial role in the team's victory—compiling 20 points, seven rebounds, one block, and one assist—and currently ranks in the top three in the NESCAC in points and rebounds per game.

This win followed a 96-66 victory against the University of Maine-Presque Isle last Saturday.

According to first year guard Bryan Hurley, a key factor in the recent wins has been the use of pressure defense tactics on the entire court.

"We picked up the pressure defense in the second half of the game on Saturday after our coach gave us a talking to in the locker room, which definitely helped contribute to the win" said Hurley. "We carried that over to the game on Monday."

Bowdoin (5-2) has rebounded well from its last-second loss to Southern Maine last week, but the challenges will continue when it faces Colby (3-3) and Bates (3-2) this weekend in its first NESCAC action.
