The rowing team's fall season ended on a positive note after the team turned in successful performances in its last two regattas.

At the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta in Worcester, Mass., on October 15, the team won two gold medals and one silver medal.

Both the men and women's fours earned gold in respective 20- and nine-boat races. Scott Mitchell '15 claimed silver in the Open 1x.

At the Head of the Charles Regatta, the varsity men's four boat placed fourth out of 40 crews, and the novice men's boat placed 35th out of 52 crews in the club event.

In the 33-crew collegiate fours, the first women's boat placed seventh and the second women's boat placed 28th—better than five "A" boats.

During the race, Bowdoin passed a total of four other crews after starting at 26th.

Captain Morgan Andersen '12 explained not all crews are always in sight, which can make the race more independent for the team members in the boat.

"We tend to base our speed on what other crews are doing around us since we never see all the boats at once," he said.

The men's team hopes to finally rank at the national level this spring.
