THAT’S A WRAP

Last weekend, the men’s golf team competed in the NESCAC Championships hosted at Trinity College to finish its season. With three full rounds over three days, the Polar Bears’ place in the standings fluctuated before settling on sixth. Andrew Flynn ’27 led the way with a total of +15 to take sixteenth place, with Kaiden Hong ’29 and Joey Zheng ’27 tied one spot behind. Henry Mariscal ’28 and Adam Eskin ’28 rounded out the team in 21st and 33rd places, respectively.

CLINCHED

Last weekend, the baseball team (15–19; 5–7 NESCAC) took two out of three games from Colby College (19–13; 5–7 NESCAC) to earn a spot in this weekend’s NESCAC Tournament. On Friday, the Polar Bears showed no mercy with a 20–0 rout. After three scoreless innings, Will Bordes ’26 hit a two-run home run and Lukas Tsai ’26 singled to make the score 4–0. Wim Nook ’29 had five RBIs, and Jackson Melendy ’26 tossed a seven-inning shutout. Saturday’s games were tighter, with the Polar Bears winning the first 6–5. Finn Cahill ’28 had a two-hit game while Bordes picked up the win on the mound. The team dropped the second game 6–7 after the Mules scored six runs in the first two innings. The Polar Bears will play a best-of-three series at Middlebury College (19–12; 7–5) in the NESCAC quarterfinals starting at 3 p.m. today.

NESCACS-BOUND

Last weekend, the men’s tennis team (14–3; 8–1 NESCAC) secured second seed in the upcoming NESCAC Tournament with wins over Williams College (11–5; 7–3 NESCAC) and Middlebury College (13–4; 7–3 NESCAC). On Saturday, the Polar Bears beat Williams 6–1 with a handful of solid two-set singles wins from Mark Kneiss ’26, Andrew Mendelson ’26 and Simon Catanzaro ’29. On Sunday, the team outcompeted Middlebury in singles play after being swept in doubles. The Polar Bears won four of six singles matches to secure the comeback win, with Codd,  Catanzaro, Kiran Garapati ’28 and Cameron Zia ’28 continuing to dominate with straight-set wins. Today, the team will head to Wesleyan University for the NESCAC Championships, starting with a quarterfinal matchup versus Colby at 1:00 p.m. today.
