October 17, 2025

AWESOME BEARS

In the last two weeks, five Polar Bears have been nominated as their respective sports’ NESCAC Player of the Week. Mackay Bommer ’26 won the field hockey award after scoring a goal and the game-winning penalty shot versus Middlebury College (9–3; 5–2 NESCAC). Kayley Huleatt ’28 was named the women’s soccer player of the week after scoring in both of the team’s games two weekends ago. The Polar Bears have produced two recent volleyball players of the week, first Cameron Shelly ’27 for her 70 assist weekend. Zoe Ryu ’29 earned the nomination this past week after hitting 28 kills versus Williams College (14-2; 5-2 NESCAC), one off of the program’s single game record. Seamus McDonough ’27 was named the men’s runner of the week after earning a tenth place finish in the NEICAAA Championships.

NICE FINISH TO FALL CAMPAIGN

The men’s golf team played the Skidmore Invitational last weekend, its last tournament of the fall season. The team finished fifth, its best overall performance of the year. Kaiden Hong ’29 was the top Polar Bear, tied for ninth individually. Hong shot a 70 (-2) in the first round, tied for the third-best single round in program history. Adam Eskin ’28 had a consistent weekend, finishing 26th individually, followed by Henry Mariscal ’28 in 33rd place and Varun Murthy ’29 in 34th. The team will train throughout the winter months in preparation for the spring season.

HOME COURT ADVANTAGE

Last weekend, the women’s tennis team hosted the Polar Bear Invitational, posting plenty of successful team and individual results. On Friday, the team beat Brandeis University in singles 5–1, including a few three-set matches, followed by a sweep versus Babson College in doubles. On Saturday, the team played hard-fought matches versus Tufts University, with Cara Hung ’26, Caroline Stuhlfaut ’27 and Suzanne Pogorelec ’28 coming through with Polar Bear wins. The team played a close set of singles matches versus Middlebury College on Sunday morning, with Stuhlfaut and Marie Frati ’28 winning their respective matches. The team will be off until March, when conference play starts.
