The crew team began its official spring season this past weekend at the 'Big Three' Regatta in Amherst, Mass.

Competing against the Middlebury and Amherst club teams, the Polar Bear men were victorious with the men's second varsity fours boat, the men's novice fours, and the men's varsity eights.

The women won the women's novice four race but were disqualified by the presence of a varsity rower on board as the result of a last minute injury.

"I was really pleased with the team's performance this weekend, it has been a challenging season so far so it was great to take home victories against Tufts and Amherst, some of our perennial rivals," said Morgan Anderson '12. "Men's first varsity still has a lot of work to do, but if we keep working hard I think our fours boats will continue to remain competitive with other school's varsity crews throughout the season."

The crew team will next take to the water in Lowell, Mass. this Saturday, where it will row against Amherst, the University of Vermont, and UMass-Lowell, among others.
