Instead of spending their weekends at Urban Outfitters or Salvation Army, four students on campus have turned to knitting needles, sewing machines and “floofers.” These students—a small but passionate cohort—have turned to sewing for various reasons but remain united by their love of the craft.
If you’ve walked into Wish Theater at any point in the last few days, you’ve been greeted by a square strip of green turf, a mesh curtain and an array of water bottles. Fluorescent lights and bright orange cones create an indoor soccer field, the set for “The Wolves,” the theater department’s most recent production.
Despite the challenges of engaging students studying remotely and abiding by COVID-19 restrictions to reach those on campus, the Student Activities Office and Bowdoin Student Government (BSG) are working to continue fostering community through campus programming.
