Julia DemenyBAYONETS!: Historian Robert White delivers his talk on his book “On Great Fields: Joshua Chamberlain: The Life and Unlikely Heroism of Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain” in the Beam classroom. White’s biography details the lesser known aspects of Chamberlain’s life and accomplishments.
The Athletes of Color Coalition (AoCC) organized a video screening and discussion in Morrell Gymnasium on Wednesday night in honor of No Hate November—a month dedicated to promoting inclusivity and respect on campus.
To compile the video, AoCC leadership requested video clips from student athletes, coaches and alumni detailing their experiences as a person of color within athletics.
American historian and author Ronald C. White visited Bowdoin on Wednesday evening to lecture on his recent book, “On Great Fields: Joshua Chamberlain: The Life and Unlikely Heroism of Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain.” White’s book is the first major comprehensive biography of Joshua Chamberlain in 30 years.
Rithmaka (Rickey) Karunadhara ’26 is a triple threat: actor, writer and director. In Masque and Gown’s performance of “Macbeth” last weekend, Karunadhara played Macduff and the Captain, captivating the audience with his raw emotion, passion and stage presence.
Last Saturday, the volleyball team (10–8; 3–6 NESCAC) swept both Wheaton College (12–11) and Maine Maritime Academy (16–5) 3–0 on its Senior Day and penultimate weekend of regular season play.

Documentary photographer Kevin Bubriski ’75 returned to campus last Thursday to lecture on his lengthy career. While Bubriski has assembled important bodies of work in the United States, he is especially well known for his work in Syria, Tibet, India, Bangladesh and Nepal, where he lived for nine years.
On Monday, Emily Austin, professor of philosophy at Wake Forest University, explored in her lecture titled “How much social justice do we really need?” how happiness can exist in a world where social injustice runs rampant.
Women’s rugby wing Lulu Linkas ’26 has quickly become a force on the field. Last year, Linkas was part of the team’s third consecutive DIII National Intercollegiate Rugby Association Championship. This season, Bowdoin defeated Frostburg State University (55–5) and Northeastern University (57–10) with Linkas at the helm.
