UNDEFEATED

Last Saturday afternoon, the women’s rugby team (3–0) traveled to New Jersey and beat Frostburg State (3–1) by a score of 41–20. The Polar Bears got the scoring started three minutes into the game. After a Frostburg try and unsuccessful conversion, the team accelerated its scoring with three tries in ten minutes, making the score 27–5 at halftime. The Polar Bears extended their lead to 41–5 in the second half but conceded a few scores before the final whistle blew. The team plays West Chester University of Pennsylvania (1–2) tomorrow at Vassar College.

TAMING THE LIONS

On Wednesday night, the women’s soccer team (5–3–0; 1–3 NESCAC) defeated Emerson College (4–3–2). Just over two minutes into the game, an Emerson forward found the top left corner of the goal to put the Lions up 1–0. The Polar Bears stayed steady, and with one minute left in the first half, Kendall Hacker ’29 sent a ball from midfield into the box toward Kayley Huleatt ’28, who put the ball in the back of the net. Midway through the second half, Kyra Hacker ’26 scored off a shot rebound, making the final score 2–1. The team travels to Middlebury College (7–0–2; 3–0–2 NESCAC) with an 11 a.m. start tomorrow.

BACK ON TRACK

Last weekend, the field hockey team (6–2; 3–2 NESCAC) split its conference road games at Hamilton College (7–2; 2–2 NESCAC) and Williams College (6–2; 4–1 NESCAC). On Saturday, the team scored two goals in the fourth quarter to take the lead before conceding a goal in the final minute to the Continentals, sending the game to overtime. Hamilton scored a penalty stroke halfway through the second overtime to win the game 4–3. Sunday’s game versus the Ephs was a hard-fought game for the Polar Bears. With no scoring in regulation play, the team once again found itself in overtime but this time came out on top. With a minute remaining, Emily Ferguson ’26 found Clara Noyes ’27 off a corner to win the game 1–0. The team will play at Middlebury College (8–1; 4–0 NESCAC) tomorrow at noon.
