SHIPPING UP TO BOSTON
The women’s rugby team (2–0) traveled to Boston, Mass. on Sunday afternoon to play Northeastern University (1–1), winning by a score of 27–17. The Polar Bears had the first five scores of the game, starting with a try from Janyah Bradley ’28 and a conversion from Amanda Korfin ’29. Ginger Arnold ’27 had two tries in the game before Northeastern started its comeback, but the Polar Bear defense held up, maintaining the lead until the final whistle blew. The team will play tomorrow in Princeton, N.J. versus Frostburg State (3–0).
MIDWEEK SWEEP
On Tuesday night, the men’s soccer team (4–1–1; 1–1–1 NESCAC) beat Saint Joseph’s College of Maine (2–5–0) by a score of 5–0. With all goals coming in the first half, the scoring started in the fifth minute of the game when Donovan Sinicropi ’29 knocked in his first collegiate goal. Tyler Huck ’26 added two more goals, making him the team’s top goal scorer. A Jack Banks ’27 header heightened the score 4–0, and Masai Gordon ’28 secured the final goal of the night. The team will play at Hamilton College (3–2–2; 0–2–2 NESCAC) tomorrow and at Williams College (4–0–2; 3–0–1 NESCAC) on Sunday.
GROUNDING THE EAGLES
On Wednesday night, the women’s soccer team (4–1–0; 1–1–0 NESCAC) had a tidy 2–0 win over Husson University (3–3–1). In the 30th minute, Annabel Callahan ’29 dribbled the ball around a defender before kicking a shot to the far side of the net, making the score 1–0 for the Polar Bears. Late in the second half, Sienna Masood ’28 scored her third goal of the season off of a feed from Stephanie Christianson ’26. The team heads to Hamilton College (2–3–2; 0–3–1 NESCAC) tomorrow and then Williams College (4–1–1; 3–1–0 NESCAC) on Sunday.
