Bowdoin graduates travel to Ghana to film 'Mango'
Three Bowdoin graduates flew to Ghana last summer to film "Under the Mango Tree," a documentary about the life and activities of the Maine-Ghana Youth Network (MGYN). Steven Bartus '08 (editor), Anna Karass '08 (writer), and Aisha Woodward '08 (editor and writer) received the Davis Project for Peace Grant to undertake the project, which lasted three weeks. Woodward first volunteered for the MGYN when she studied abroad the spring of her junior year in Ghana. The same spring, the MGYN visited Bowdoin, and Karass met two of its leaders: Co-Director and Co-Founder Mollishmael Kwame Gabah and President Erin Rhoda.

Peucinian society debates pop music's effect on culture
Does popular music inspire good? This was the question debated by the Peucinian Society, Bowdoin's literary debating organization, at its most recent meeting on November 13. Members of the Peucinian Society spend their meetings debating or preparing orations and hosting speakers about current events topics.

Artist explores the whimsical inside Coleman Burke
As the most recent show in the Coleman Burke Gallery conveys, creating nature can result in beautifully organized chaos. The art gallery, located in Fort Andross and co-directed by John Bisbee and Mark Wethli, Bowdoin art professors, is currently home to an original installation, "Down Back," by Philadelphia artist Astrid Bowlby. The gallery, founded by Bisbee in the winter of 2007, is a spacious room right beside local cultural hot spot, the Frontier Café.

Robot dogs fetch third place in Germany
In the first podium finish in Bowdoin robotic soccer dog history, the Northern Bites brought home the third place trophy from the RoboCup German Open 2007 in Hannover. According to team captain Henry Work '06, the team saw significant improvement a week before the tournament.
