Facing D-I competitors, the track and field teams posted impressive results at the University of New Hampshire Wildcat Invitational last weekend. Chris Martin '12 was a double winner, claiming first place in both the long jump and the triple jump. He set a new school record in the latter with a jump of 14.54 meters, besting the existing record by .13 meters.

Weekly Roundup: Men’s tennis keeps rolling, doubles streak at 24 straight

Coming off of six consecutive wins, the men's tennis team secured victories number seven and eight last weekend to give the program its longest winning streak since 2000. The ninth-ranked men beat No. 15 Bates 7-2 on Friday and bested Hamilton 8-1 on Sunday, improving their record to 10-5.

**READY TO RETURN:** After playing Middlebury on Saturday, seniors Emily Lombardi and Hannah Hoerner won their match at No. 3 doubles at home yesterday.

The women's tennis team fell to fifth in the conference after losing to undefeated Middlebury last Saturday. Bowdoin (7-5, 3-1 NESCAC) lost 8-1 to a talented Panther squad ranked No. 7 in the nation. The Polar Bears rebounded with a 8-1 victory over Tufts yesterday.

Chantalle Lavertu '13 and Emma Lewis '14 scored the Polar Bears' only point of the match playing at No. 3 doubles, while captain Kellen Alberstone '13 and Kate Winingham '14 both split their singles sets against nationally ranked opponents. At No. 1, Alberstone took the first set against the current small college national champion Lok-Sze Leung. Winingham played to a 10-point tiebreaker set against her opponent Victoria Aiello, who is ranked ninth in the nation.

"The matches were really close, but we just needed to step it up a little," Lavertu said. "We're ready to play them next time around."

The team has little time to rest, playing No. 3 Amherst, unranked Hamilton, and No. 19 Wellesley this weekend at home.
