Last weekend was a disappointing one for men's soccer. The team is now 3-2-1 after tying last year's NESCAC champion Middlebury and losing to Williams.
Saturday's game against Middlebury was a constant battle from the get-go. Just two minutes in, defenseman Macgill Eldredge '12 fired a long pass to Nick Powell '12, who gave Bowdoin an early lead with a diving header into the goal.
Three minutes later, Middlebury responded to tie the game at one. Early in the second half, however, Middlebury regained the lead with a goal off a corner.
Sam White '15 came through just in time, heading a ball into the goal with only 36 seconds left. Through two overtimes, however, neither team was able to score another goal.
"It was a sense of relief since it was late in the game," said White of his last-minute goal, "but we were still a little disappointed that we couldn't come all the way back."
Just after Saturday's game, the team boarded a bus to Massachusetts, where it took on Williams the following day.
Though the Polar Bears dominated the beginning of the game with a brilliant save by goalkeeper Will Wise '14, the Ephs pulled through with a goal with less than eight minutes left.
Bowdoin will face Connecticut College (3-2) tomorrow.
