At the NESCAC Championship at Wesleyan University, the women's track team clinched fifth place in a day marked by personal achievements.

Elsa Millett '12 claimed the conference title in the 200-meters with an impressive time of 25.59.

Millett placed second last year in the same event, and added to this year's win with a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.44.

With her strong performances, Millett won three All-NESCAC honors—the most out of any track athlete. Christina Argueta '11 also received All-NESCAC honors for her third-place finish in the 5000-meter run.

According to Millett, a bout of illness prevented her from doing her personal best in the relay, but her performance in the 200-meter dash exceeded her expectations.

"I've been having a respiratory [problem]. It really bothered me for the 400 and I didn't quite run my best," said Millett. "But for the 200 it was all legs. I felt good and fast and it let me loosen up. It was nice to have that come out of a day that I wasn't super encouraged about."

The 4x100-meter relay team made up of Emily Barr '12, Michele Kaufman '13, Millett and Samantha Copland '14, also had a strong showing, earning a second-place finish for the Polar Bears.

High Jumper Adriane Berry '14 broke her personal best in the high jump, as did Katherine Harmon '14, who has been breaking personal records consecutively at each competition in the hammer throw.

The team will compete again this upcoming Saturday at the New England D-III Championship Meet at MIT.

Millett expressed enthusiasm for this meet, as she hopes she will take the opportunity to vie for a chance at Nationals.

"I am excited to kill a 400," said Millet. "I feel like I've been preparing all season to get a good time. I want to see if I can at least qualify for Nationals. I am just looking forward to some good competition and getting a good time."
