To the Editors:
In Charles Cubeta's April 8 article "Pepper flipping tradition has raised the stakes since 2004," I feel I must for posterity's sake reveal the true origins of this campus phenomenon.
Alex "Chun-Li" Bettigole '08 introduced the game to the rest of the men's ultimate frisbee team in the fall of 2004. There was only one rule at the time: one flip per person per meal. I do not remember how the game spread, but I can only suggest that the team must have led by example, as it was (and still is) wont to do. An otherwise excellent article.
Sincerely,
Colin "Tang" Murray '07
