One Security investigation has reached its conclusion. Over Winter Break, eight students received harassing phone calls from someone claiming to be a Bowdoin student, said Director of Safety and Security Randy Nichols.

Nichols said the calls were "not threatening, but inappropriate."

Nichols quickly determined that the caller was not who he said he was. The College subsequently filed a subpoena to obtain the phone number of the caller, as it had been were blocked.

Eventually, the number was traced back to a non-student outside of Maine, who was quickly determined to not be the person responsible. But Nichols was not done. He checked Facebook to see if the person with the phone number had any friends at Bowdoin. There was just one.

Nichols confronted the Facebook friend, a current student, who admitted to making the phone calls.
