In the span of just 15 minutes, people from three separate vehicles yelled harassing language at two students near Howell House between 8:15 and 8:30 p.m. on April 2. According to Director of Safety and Security Randy Nichols, people in the second car shouted a racial slur while those in the third called out a sexual slur; the language of the individuals in the first car was indiscernible.

Nichols said the two students—one of whom was a student of color—reported the incidents to Security roughly 20 minutes following the encounter with the third car. Security and the Brunswick Police Department responded, but were unable to track down any of the cars. Nichols strongly encouraged all future victims to immediately notify Security.

Nichols said the perpetrators were most likely teenagers. He also believed the three acts to be coordinated.
