Last weekend, the men’s squash team (8–13; 2–8 NESCAC) went 3–0 to win the Conroy Cup in the D-Division at the Collegiate Squash Association (CSA) National Championships. The Polar Bears defeated Fordham University (20–11), Wesleyan University (7–12) and Dickinson College (6–15) to finish their season ranked 25th in the nation.
Bowdoin Concert Band and Chorus conducted a variety of performances over the years, and for both groups, Bowdoin students aren’t the only ones performing. The band and chorus are medleys of students, alumni, high school students and all sorts of other community members.
During the women’s rugby (6–1) game against Vassar College (9–1) on October 29, flanker Kyra Bishop ’26 tallied 19 tackles, a try and two conversion kicks. Although the team suffered a 26–19 loss, Bishop had one of her best showings in what has been a successful rookie season.
This weekend, the co-ed water polo team hosted the Collegiate Water Polo Association North Atlantic Division “A” Championship. The event spanned two days and hosted five teams from across the East Coast. Bowdoin went 0–3, and the University of Vermont took home the championship.
MAIZ, a popular Colombian street food restaurant in Portland, recently opened a location on Pleasant Street in Brunswick. The space is the owners’ third culinary venture, the first of which was a food truck called La Fritanga which serves a similar set of dishes to both of their restaurants.
