February 19, 2026

WIN STREAK EXTENDED

Last weekend, the men’s hockey team (16–5–1; 12–3–1 NESCAC) extended its win streak with two road wins over Trinity College (11–10–1; 5–10–1 NESCAC) and Wesleyan University (8–14–0; 7–9–0 NESCAC). On Friday versus the Bantams, the Polar Bears scored in the first five minutes via a Bryce Bollman ’27 deflection. Bollman added a power play goal in the second period, leading to a final score of 3–1. Against the Cardinals, the teams combined for four goals in the first period alone with the Polar Bears up 3–1 and a final score of 5–2. The team will finish its regular season at home this weekend versus Connecticut College (9–12–1; 5–10–1 NESCAC) and Tufts University (11–10–1; 8–8–0 NESCAC).

CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON

Last week, the women’s swimming and diving team finished in seventh place at the NESCAC Championships hosted by Wesleyan University. Lizzie Walsh ’26 had a busy weekend, helping the 800 freestyle relay finish in seventh place, securing sixth place in the 200 breaststroke and a tenth place finish in the 400 freestyle relay. Walsh’s 296 points on the weekend makes her fifth all time in the NESCAC for Career High-Point Swimmer. Harper Stevenson ’26 came in fifth in the 500 freestyle and fourth in the 200 butterfly. Ursula von Goeler ’28 took sixth in the 1m dive and third in the 3m. A handful of Polar Bears earned B-cut times and will wait to see if that qualifies them for the NCAA DIII Championship in mid-March.

FINAL STRIDES

Last weekend, the Nordic skiing team finished in fourth place at the Williams Carnival, giving the team a big boost going into this weekend’s EISA Championships. Ollie Swabey ’28 finished in 14th place for the men with a personal record time, followed by Lars Sorom ’26 and Sawyer Weale ’27 in 36th and 37th, respectively. Emma Crum ’26, Mirra Payson ’27 and Gillian Fairfax ’28 all finished in the top 20 for the women. The team will travel to Middlebury College today for the EISA championships.
