February 13, 2026
Shihab MoralOn February 6, the Office of Admissions released Early Decision II admissions results, completing the Early Decision rounds for the Class of 2030. Including Regular Decision applications, the College received 14,694 total applications for the Class of 2030, the highest in the College’s history, continuing the trend of increasing application numbers observed over the past four years.
The total number of applications increased by almost five percent compared to last year, slightly less growth compared to the roughly six percent jump in applicants for the Class of 2029. The Office of Admissions received 2,301 applications across both Early Decision rounds, of which 301 students were offered admission, constituting an acceptance rate of about 13.1 percent for Early Decision applicants, down from last year’s 14.8 percent. Additionally, 28 students were matched with Bowdoin through the QuestBridge National College Match. The number of both Early Decision and QuestBridge applicants accepted increased this cycle in comparison to last year.
In an email to the Orient, Senior Vice President and Dean of Admissions and Student Aid Claudia Marroquin ’06 spoke highly of this year’s applications.
“Students’ thoughtfulness in preparing their applications and the degree to which they have availed themselves of opportunities to learn about Bowdoin and the community on campus is remarkable,” Marroquin wrote. “At a time when there is so much that is distressing and frightening around the U.S. and the globe, it’s a true privilege to be able to spend so much time getting to know students through their own words and those who support them.”
The Regular Decision results for the Class of 2030 will be announced in mid-March, bringing this year’s admissions cycle to a close.
