TIME TO BOUNCE
The women’s basketball team (16–0; 3–0 NESCAC) continued its perfect season by dominating over Saint Joseph’s College (11–5) with a final score of 72–37. The foundation for the win was set in the first quarter, where the team converted 56 percent of its shots. The Polar Bears went into halftime with a 43–18 edge and continued to lead by double-digits for the rest of the game. The Polar Bears scored 37 points off turnovers and forced 27 turnovers, with Sydney Jones ’25 leading the team with 19 points followed by Maria Belardi ’26 who contributed 13 points. The team will play Colby College (9–7; 3–0 NESCAC) tomorrow at 3 p.m. in Morrell Gymnasium.
SPLASHING ON BY
The swim team hosted the University of Maine at Greason Pool on Saturday for an afternoon meet where the women’s team beat the Black Bears 189–150. Olivia Smith ’25 added significant points to the board for the Polar Bears with her first place finishes in the 50 backstroke, 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke. Elizabeth Walsh ’26 also took home the top finish in the 400 IM with a time of 4:26.92 as well as the 200 breaststroke with a 2:23.32. Ava Wong ’28 added to the Polar Bears’ lead with a first place 59.63 finish in the 100 fly and took the top spot in the 50 fly with a time of 27.35. Harper Stevenson ’27 closely followed with a second place finish at 27.44.
EAT OUR DUST
The men’s and women’s track team travelled to Middlebury College for the Middlebury Winter Classic Meet, picking up six individual wins in the Polar Bears’ first meet back since winter break. On the women’s side, Kennedy Kirkland ’27 won the 200m dash with a time of 26.07 and took the long jump, making it 5.53 meters. Sophia Young ’27 won the 60m in 7.98 seconds, and Emma Gibbens ’25 won the shot put with a toss of 11.68m. On the men’s team, Kane Demers ’26 tied the school record by winning the 60m hurdles in 8.18 seconds, and Oliver Brandes ’27 won the 600m in 1:22.04.
