TIED UP

On Tuesday, the women’s soccer team (0–0–1; 0–0–0 NESCAC) tied up its home opener against the University of Hartford (0–0–1), a team currently ranked top-25 in Division III. Throughout the game, the Polar Bears swapped possession multiple times in the midfield with the Hawks, yet neither team scored. Both had four corner kicks, and Bowdoin led 8—7 in shots, but the Hawks grabbed a 4—3 edge in shots on goal. In the 20th minute of play, goalie Charlotte Iannone ’26 dove across the goal from the right to left post to make a save and secure the tied game. The Polar Bears will face Colby College (1–0–0; 0–0–0 NESCAC) for the first time this season at noon tomorrow on Pickard Women’s Soccer Field.

ON PAR

Over the summer, the men’s golf team was recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) for its academic success during the 2023-2024 academic year. The GCAA is an organization that aims to support coaches throughout all divisions of collegiate golf by providing resources to coaches and players. The Polar Bears were one of 13 teams in Division III to earn this recognition by having a cumulative team GPA of above 3.5. The men’s golf team begins its season on September 14 at the Duke Nelson Invitational at Middlebury College.
