POWER PLAY(ED)
The women’s hockey team (6–0–0; 4–0–0 NESCAC) crushed Keene State College (5–4–0) on Tuesday evening with a final score of 9–0. Eight different Polar Bears scored, with Jane McCarter ’25 scoring twice over the course of the game. Meghan Britt ’28 scored just over a minute into the contest to set the foundation for the massive lead the team had for the rest of the game. Ava Provenzo ’28 and Ava Impasimato ’26 also scored in the first period, settling the score at 3–0 going into the break. During the second period, the Polar Bears improved to 7–0 thanks to even-strength goals from Bella Schifano ’27 and Bella Mele ’27. McCarter and Anyi Sun ’26 also scored on the powerplay, setting a trend for the third period, where McCarter and Gia Massari ’25 secured two powerplay goals and finalized the score at 9–0. The team returns to action against the University of New England (4–5–0) in Biddeford tomorrow at 4 p.m.

Over Thanksgiving break, the women’s basketball team (5–0; 0–0 NESCAC) defeated both Wheaton College (2–6) and University of Maine-Presque Isle (0–6) (UMPI) by scores of 66–46 and 88–23, respectively. The team also beat Bates College (6–2; 0–0 NESCAC) in a non-cconfrence game last night 76–71. Against Wheaton on November 23, the teams entered the second quarter tied up 14–14, but thanks to Abbie Quinn ’27’s 15 points and seven rebounds and Callie Godfrey ’25 adding ten points and eight boards, the Polar Bears were able to secure the win. Against UMPI, the team allowed the lowest amount of points from its competition in six years, and every player on the team added at least three points to the board. Bowdoin plays Colby College (2–4; 0–0 NESCAC) in a non-conference game tomorrow in Waterville at 3 p.m.
(POLAR) BEAR TOSS
As part of the Bowdoin Student Athlete Advisory Committee’s (BSAAC) cancer initiative, tomorrow, the men’s hockey team (3–3–0; 1–2–0 NESCAC) will play Tufts University (4–2–1; 2–2–0 NESCAC) in its first ever teddy bear toss game held in conjunction with the New England Cancer Specialists and the Dempsey Center. Students are invited to bring stuffed animals to throw on the ice after the Polar Bears score their first goal against the Jumbos, and the animals will be collected and donated to the Dempsey Center for children.
