November 8, 2024

GODD(SPEED)ARD

Will Goddard ’25 of the men’s cross country team earned First Team All-NESCAC honors, the first league honor of his career. The conference announced the All-NESCAC awards for cross country on Tuesday night after the conclusion of the fall season. Goddard has led a record-breaking career during his time at Bowdoin and most recently came in second overall on the individual level at the NESCAC cross country championships hosted in Brunswick last weekend. Goddard finished the 8k race in under 25 minutes, a school record.

JONES(ING) FOR THE NET

Last Thursday, women’s basketball player Sydney Jones ’24 earned the First Team Preseason All-American honor from D3hoops.com. Jones was named the 2024 NESCAC player of the year as she became the seventh First Team WBCA All-American from the College after helping her team win the NESCAC championship last season, appear in the NCAA Elite Eight and hold an overall record of 28–3 (9–1 NESCAC). Jones led the NESCAC in almost all categories: rebounds, points, assists and steals and also hit 1,000 career points last winter towards the end of the season. Jones and the rest of the team head into its first game against Skidmore College, who held a 22–5 record last season, on November 15.
