DJ of the Week: Sena Phin

What's the song, artist, or album that has changed your
The album that I absolutely can not part with for too long is Doolittle
from The Pixies.
Currently, who puts on the best live performance?
I saw The Strokes this past fall in Portland and they were AWESOME!!!
The Moldy Peaches played so fantastically before them, the crowd was very
enthusiastic and The Skinny was absolutely ROCKING OUT! So far, it is
the best show I've been to.
What's in your stereo right now?
The band in my CD player right now is Modest Mouse. The album is This
Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About. There is
an awesome collaboration with Calvin Johnson on one song, but the song
at the moment for me is "Novocain Stain".
Outside of your show's genre, who's your favorite artist?
Andrew Bird is COOL! He's a violinist/singer who's got this cool and interesting
Old Timey-Swing-German Cabaret sound about him. My favorite album of his
is Thrills. Once I heard "Nuthinduan Waltz", I knew I
had to get my hands on the album...with its cool picture of a devil dude
standing atop a phonograph.
What song are you embarassed to admit that you love?
For awhile I really loved bopping and shaking my butt to Shakira's "Wherever,
Whenever". I am not embarrassed to admit this, except that I am not
even sure I correctly named the song title. Oh well.
Sena Phin and her co-host, Rachel Berman (to be profiled
next week), are on WBOR 91.1 Wednesdays, 1:00- 2:30 p.m.
