The men's tennis team had a strong showing last weekend at the Wallach Invitational at Bates. Kyle Wolstencroft '15 led the team, winning the B-Flight singles bracket in the team's last match of the year.

Wolstencroft had an impressive showing in his hunt for the title, dispatching No. 2 seed James Burke of Middlebury in the second round and winning four matches overall. He dropped his only set of the tournament in the final match, losing 4-6 to Ilya Levin of Trinity in the opener. He made up for this initial setback by winning the next two sets 6-3 and 11-9.

"Overall I was very pleased with how the weekend turned out," said Wolstencroft. "I wasn't playing my very best but I fought hard and battled for match point, and ended up succeeding."

"I think we had a lot of success individually and as a team this season from very early on, and I feel like we should have a great season this upcoming spring," he added.

Other successful showings included Chris Lord '14 advancing to the semi-final round of the A-Flight bracket and Eric Chien '14 reaching the semi-finals of the C-Flight bracket. In doubles, Alex Jacobs '12 and Peter Davis '14 advanced to the final match of the B-Flight bracket before losing to Trinity 8-5.

The week before, Bowdoin lost 8-1 to Concordia, with the one win coming from the first doubles duo of Sam King '14 and captain Oscar Pena '12.
